November with the RRVWP

We have a lot going on in November at the RRVWP. Please join us for as many of these activities as you can!

The Warrior Words participants, all armed services veterans from various conflicts, will be reading their narratives on Nov. 11 from 10:00-11:30 am at the Touchmark Assisted Living Home, 1200 Harwood (off South University, near 35th Ave S), Fargo. These veterans met during several Saturdays this fall under the leadership of TC Lori Koenig to discuss and workshop their writing, supported by a grant from the North Dakota Humanities Council.

The Grand Forks Writing Group will meet on Friday, Nov. 14, at 5:30 at the home of Nancy Devine. All RRVWP members are welcome to attend. You need not have attended meetings in the past nor commit to attending all meetings to be a part of the GF Writing Group. For our November meeting we will workshop pieces of any genre. The Fargo Writing Group is meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 7:00-8:30 pm with the theme of "Asking 'What If?'" to develop plot lines. Please RSVP to Kim Rensch at renschk[at]fargo[dot]k12[dot]nd[dot]us if planning to attend.

The Grand Forks Book Club will be reading Son (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13324841-son?from_search=true) by Lois Lowry and meeting at 5:30 on Thursday, November 20 at the Blue Moose Restaurant in East Grand Forks.

The Fargo-Moorhead Book Club has plans to meet on Friday, Nov. 21 at Usher's House in Moorhead from 4:30-6:00 pm to discuss Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15745753-eleanor-park?ac=1 ).RSVP to Dan Dooher at DTDOOHER2006[at]alum[dot]csbsju[dot]edu if planning to attend. You need not have read the book to join the discussion and learn more about the book.

Saturday Seminar: "Stellar Sentences" on November 22 from 1:00-4:00 pm in Room 167 at Central High School in Grand Forks. In this session, participants will learn how to write better narratives by generating quality sentences.
