A useful revision exercise is to take something you’ve
written and add a new sentence after every sentence in the first draft. This
can be especially interesting when applied to a how-to article. Write a how-to
article or do a search for a text on how to do something (change oil, grill the
perfect chicken, remove a stain, etc.). Apply the sentence-after-sentence
revision strategy to see what happens to your writing.
