Low-income students and technology access
In the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life report, 92 percent of teachers surveyed said technology has a "major impact on their ability to access content, resources and material." But 84 percent warned of increased disparities between low- and high-income students and school districts, according to the poll, which was released Thursday.
The survey, conducted March 7 to April 23 last year, included 2,462 middle and high school teachers. The majority of the sample was Advanced Placement high school teachers, while about 700 respondents were National Writing Project teachers. NWP is a network of centers, based largely at universities, that focus on writing instruction in schools. . . .
