Last day in the northwoods

Today is the last day of the Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference, a day of wrapping up, packing and heading out. It has been a good week with ample chances to write and think about writing and connect with other writers. Soon this week will also inform our teaching of writing and our work with the Red River Valley Writing Project.

Here is the take-away.

Writers write. They make time to write and write on a regular basis, often daily. They push through times when they don't know what to write or how to write it by writing.

The take-away might seem like a few sentences of the obvious. But that doesn't matter. You've got to write if you want to be a writer.
