At the Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference participants take part in writing classes with nationally renowned writers, attend public readings of the staff writers' work, and have time to write and commune with fellow writers. Nancy Devine, Pam Fisher, Angie Hase, and Sara Miller attended this Conference last summer and had an excellent experience.
The fee to attend this conference is $545.00 if signed up by April 15. Participant cost would also include transportation, lodging, and some meals.
To help our members with the cost of this conference, the RRVWP is offering two scholarships of $300.00 each to
defray expenses. To apply for this scholarship, please send the following by April 1, 2015 to Pam Fisher <pam[dot]fisher[at]gfschools[dot]org>.
1.
A brief explanation of why you would like to attend the conference and with
what author you would like to study.
2.
A brief explanation of what you would hope to learn and how you might share
your new learnings/experience with other RRVWP members or students.
3.
A minimum of five pages of your work that you would submit in conjunction with
your application to the Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference.
RRVWP members who apply will be notified of the
RRVWP's decision on scholarship awards within a few days of the April deadline. Scholarship winners would need to apply to the Minnesota Northwoods
Writers Conference, be accepted, pay all fees up front, and attend the
Conference, after which the scholarship would be issued.
