What is your favorite writing assignment that you give students? If you have multiple favorites or teach multiple preps, pick any one of those.
Now, write the assignment that you give to students. If you have already done this, try another version of the assignment, maybe with a twist: make it humorous, change it from fiction to non-fiction or vice versa, switch the point of view, pick a different topic or theme within the assignment, change the genre of the piece, etc.
