When we write about setting, it can be fun to tap into the local
oddities of a place and feature them in our writing. Pick a city and do a
search for “odd facts about (city name).” Write about some of the odd facts
that stand out to you. If you’re currently writing a narrative, how might you
make these strange facts part of the fabric of the setting?
